Former residence of the Counts of Montaos, donated to the Royal Treasury in 1640.

At the beginning of the 18th century, this historical building became the seat of the Wage Accountant's Office of the Kingdom of Galicia. In 1725 it became the headquarters of the Intendencia and the offices of the Treasury of the Kingdom of Galicia.

The building currently houses the Civic and Cultural Centre of the Old Town.
